Hoist Side Pull Detector for cable diameter .236"-.473" (6mm-12mm). Two larger sizes available. Standard use is for side pull trip and/or side pull alarm in the line of the hoist drum. It is recommended to use the TAC Controller with the HSPD which includes timers and also has outputs for alarms and lights if you wish to add. The TAC controller gives adjustable time delays before the unit trips. Great system to solve a difficult hoist use problems.
Overhead cranes are designed to lift objects vertically. A side pull always occurs when the hoist lifts something that has not been placed directly underneath it.
Side pull can cause violent and hazardous load swing, hoist components such as the rope guide or drum might get damaged, or in the worst case load ropes may snap. Preventing side pull will help make your operations faster and safer.
